New Jersey is renowned for its fertile soil and diverse agricultural offerings, making it a haven for fruit enthusiasts. In this blog post, I will share eleven beautiful spots across the Garden State where visitors can pick their own delicious fruits this summer of 2023! 1. Alstede Farms in Chester

Nestled in the picturesque town of Chester, Alstede Farms offers a delightful experience for fruit lovers. With a wide variety of fruits like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and peaches available for picking, visitors can enjoy the fruits of their labor while reveling in the farm’s scenic beauty. Strawberries are still good for picking as of early June, with raspberries and blueberries coming very soon!
2. Terhune Orchards in Princeton

Terhune Orchards in Princeton is a family-owned farm that provides an authentic farm experience. During the summer season, visitors can pick sweet and tart cherries, blueberries, and blackberries here. The farm also offers a range of family-friendly activities and events, making it a perfect destination for a day of fun and fruit picking. 3. Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford
Address: 133 Church Rd, Medford, NJ 08055
Located in Medford, Johnson’s Corner Farm boasts an extensive selection of pick-your-own fruits. Visitors can savor the flavors of strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and more. The farm also offers hayrides, animal tours, and a delightful playground, making it a fantastic destination for families. While their U-pick strawberry season is expected to wrap up around June 17th, their blueberry season is right around the corner. 4. Battleview Orchards in Freehold

Battleview Orchards is a lovely gem in Freehold, offering a peaceful and scenic setting for fruit picking. From apples (in the fall) and peaches to nectarines and sour cherries, visitors can relish a wide variety of fresh fruits while immersing themselves in the natural beauty of the orchard. 5. Mood’s Farm Market in Mullica Hill

Mood’s Farm Market is a family-operated farm that invites visitors to experience the joy of picking their own fruit. Whether it’s blueberries, raspberries, or sweet cherries, the farm ensures that only the freshest and juiciest produce is available for visitors to enjoy. Current U-pick dates can be found on their website. Please note that Mood’s Farm is currently closed on Sundays.
6. Giamarese Farm & Orchards in East Brunswick

Giamarese Farm & Orchards in East Brunswick offers an idyllic setting for fruit picking. Visitors can enjoy the pleasures of harvesting strawberries, sugar snap peas, and other seasonal produce while appreciating the farm’s commitment to sustainable agriculture. 7. Donaldson Farms in Hackettstown

9. Eastmont Orchards in Colts Neck

Eastmont Orchards in Colts Neck is a must-visit destination for fruit lovers. With apples (more towards fall) and peaches (typically starting mid-to-late July), visitors can indulge in the farm’s offerings while enjoying the beautiful surroundings and taking part in festive events.
10. Happy Day Farm in Manalapan

Happy Day Farm in Manalapan is a perfect destination for a fruitful day out. With a focus on family fun, visitors can pick their own raspberries, blueberries, and peaches while enjoying the farm’s friendly atmosphere and attractions including a lavender field, sunflower field, and zinnia field!

- Lavender: June 10th – July 16th
- U-pick raspberries: June 10th – July 1st
- U-pick blueberries: June 30th – August 12th

11. Bear Berries in Browns Mills
Address: 1449 Junctions Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015
Bear Berries is a 66-acre farm nestled in Burlington County, NJ that offers a variety of pick-your-own blueberries. Visitors can traverse 14 acres of blueberries, and the farm is expected to kick off the U-pick season on June 20th. Visiting costs a non-refundable fee of $5 per person and the blueberries cost $1.75 per pound. Bear Berries asks that visitors please bring their own take-home containers!
