We were visiting my parents, who were staying in a long-term rental in Ka'anapali, but there are tons of hotels and resorts in Ka'anapali that I recommend looking into. I personally think this is the best home base on Maui and a great area to be in. There are lots of shops and restaurants in Whaler's Village!

This was about an 8-hour day trip from Maui to Lanai and we absolutely loved it! It included breakfast, lunch, and snorkel equipment. The boat ride is about 2 hours each way, and then we had a few hours on Lanai to relax at the beach, snorkel, hike, and eat lunch.

Stop 5: Kīpahulu Visitor’s Center (Haleakala National Park)
Hike Pīpīwai Trail: 3.4 miles roundtrip with just over 850 feet of elevation gain. Takes about 2 hours to do and ends with 400-ft waterfall view
Dinner at Paia Fish Market
Drive back to accommodations in Ka'anapali
