Apple picking season is right around the corner in New Jersey! Whether you’re picking fresh apples straight from the tree or enjoying delicious apple cider donuts, there’s no better way to enjoy a crisp fall day. North Jersey
1. Demarest Farms

- Pricing: $8 per person (ages 2+) + $18/bag to hold picked apples (10-12 lbs)
- Demarest Farms is known for its scenic views and a wide range of apple varieties, making it a favorite spot for families. Their 2025 apple-picking season will be held on these dates: August 30th – September 1st, 6th-7th, 13th-14th, 20th-21st, 23rd-24th, 27th-28th, October 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 11th-13th, 2025.
2. Riamede Farm

- Pricing: $3.59-$10.50/person (ages 3+)
- Riamede Farm offers a peaceful and rustic atmosphere and is one of my favorite orchards in NJ to visit for apple picking. Enjoy apple picking and more late summer and fall activities. 3. Alstede Farms
- Address: 1 Alstede Farms Ln, Chester, NJ 07930
- Pricing: Must purchase a PYO ticket for admission on the day of your visit + pay for what you pick.
- Alstede Farms is a family-friendly destination with a petting zoo, corn maze, and vast variety of apples to pick. They typically open up apple picking for Labor Day Weekend, but keep an eye out on their Instagram for announcements.
4. Parks Farms
- Address: 525 Rte 24, Chester, NJ 07930
- Pricing: Varies by apple variety and quantity; unsure if there is an admission fee.
- Parks Farms offer pick your own apples and pumpkins. Check out its Facebook page or website for the opening day announcement for the 2025 season.
5. Hillview Farms
- Address: 223 Meyersville Rd, Gillette, NJ 07933
- Pricing: Pay for what you pick; unsure if there is an admission fee.
- Hillview Farms offers apple picking in September and October. They also offer tractor rides to the orchard and pumpkin patch on weekends (they suggest you call ahead to confirm).
6. Sun High Orchards
- Address: 19 Canfield Ave, Randolph, NJ 07869
- Pricing: Typically $4/person on weekends & $2/person on weekdays, plus pay for what you pick
- Sun High Orchard’s typically begins its apple picking season mid-to-late September and runs it through mid-to-late October. See their Instagram or website for updates.
7. Stony Hill Farms
- Address: 15 North Rd, Chester, NJ 07930
- Pricing: Entry fee starts at $7.99/person online & $10.99/person at gate (+ tax). Pay for what you pick – a half peck is $10 & a full peck is $18.
- The picking season is expected to run from early September to mid-October. Along with apple picking, Stony Hill offers a farmer’s market stocked with fresh produce and treats. The apple picking-entry fee includes admission to the orchards, a hayride to the fields (weekends only), and other activities. Additional options include a corn maze, rides, and gemstone mining. 8. Wightman Farms
- Address: 1111 Mt Kemble Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960
- Pricing: A visit to the apple orchards is included in a Fall Festival ticket, which costed $25/person (ages 4+) in 2024 (will likely be the same/similar in 2025). Pay for what you pick.
- Wightman’s Farm is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and seasonal Fall Festival. A ticket for the Fall Festival includes access to their giant corn maze (plus other mazes), scenic hayrides, and orchard entry. The festival typically operates weekends only starting in September.
9. Hillcrest Orchard & Dairy
- Address: 2 Davis Rd, Branchville, NJ 07826

- Hillcrest Farm is a 67-acre apple orchard that usually opens early September to the end of October (weekends only 9 AM – 5 PM) for apple picking. The Farm, which is located near the Sussex County Fairgrounds, is a charming family-owned orchard and working dairy farm. The farm offers a lovely selection of apples and dairy products.
10. Pochuck Valley Farms

- Pochuck Valley Farms offers a serene and scenic location for apple picking. The farm’s 2025 picking season will start on August 20th and is expected to run through November 10th.
11. Beemerville Orchards

Central & South Jersey
12. Longmeadow Farm

13. Mackey’s Orchard

- Mackey’s is a 45-acre orchard with a wide variety of apples to pick plus fresh baked goods! They typically offering picking in September and October. Operating dates will be announced here.
14. Race Farm

- Race Farm offers a family-friendly atmosphere and a variety of apples and fresh produce for picking. The farm regularly updates its Facebook page with picking info.
15. Stoneyfield Orchard

- Stoneyfield Orchard provides a charming backdrop for apple picking and enjoying the autumn season. Apples and pears are typically available for picking during September and October. Announcements can be found on the the farm’s Facebook page.
16. Von Thun Farms (2 Locations)
- Address: 438 NJ-57, Washington, NJ 07882, and 505 Ridge Rd, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852
- Pricing: Field admission for ages 3+ costs $3/person. A quarter-peck bag costs $9, a half-peck bag costs $15, and a peck bag costs $25 (same pricing for both locations).

17. Melick’s Town Farm

- Terhune Orchards is a beloved farm in Princeton that offers apple picking throughout September and October.
21. Giamarese Farm & Orchard

- Giamarese Farm’s apple-picking season runs from late August to early October. The farm also offers PYO pumpkins late September and October.
22. Battleview Orchards

- Battleview Orchards is known for its picturesque orchards, delicious apple varieties, and market store. The orchard has been around for over 100 years and is definitely one of my favorites in NJ to visit. There is no admission fee and you only pay for what you pick! Battleview Orchards also offers pumpkin picking! I highly recommend visiting the farm market up the street for some delicious fresh-baked goods including apple cider doughnuts. Picking is typically open Late August through October. Announcements for the 2025 season will be posted on Facebook and Instagram.
23. Eastmont Orchards

- Eastmont Orchards in Monmouth County is an great spot for apple picking! There is no admission fee and you pay for what you pick by the pound. They expect to start picking early September.
24. Ripple Hill Farm

- Pricing: $5/person entry fee (ages 10+) + pay for what you pick by the pound
- Ripple Hill Farm’s 2025 apple picking season plans to run September 14th through October 19th (Sundays from 12-4 PM only).
25. Johnson’s Corner Farm

- Pricing: $7/person on weekdays & $10/person (+ fees) on weekends, when reserved online. Pay for what you pick – $2.79/lb.
- Fall Harvest at Johnson’s Corner Farm is every day from September 7th through October 12th (subject to change). Visitors can pick apples and enjoy the corn maze, pumpkin patch, and more fun activities!
26. Strawberry Hill Farm

- Strawberry Hill Farm is a charming pick-your-own apple, peach, and nectarine farm in Burlington County. Picking info can be found on their Facebook and website.
27. Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm

28. Russo’s Fruit and Vegetable Farm

- Russo’s pick-your-own apple season will run Friday to Sunday from September 12th until October 31st, 2025 plus Monday, October 13th. Visitors must ride the wagon to the orchard, which costs $6/person.

33. Stone Tavern Orchards

- Pricing: Ages 12+: $9.00/pp; Ages 4-11: $5.00 (3 & under: free); Apples: $2.29/lb
- Stone Tavern Orchards & Annie’s Orchard (364 Rt 526, Cream Ridge, NJ) are sister locations that both offer apple picking in western Monmouth County. Typically open weekends mid-September through mid-November. These spots are super close to Holland Ridge Farms, so you may consider combining an outing to these spots in the same day during late September or October. The above pricing is for Stone Tavern Orchards, and the tickets for their Fall Festival include access to the apple orchards, pumpkin patch, flower patch, corn maze, corn pit, and a hayride that takes you out to all the activities!
