New Jersey’s Best Sunflower Fields to Visit in 2022

Left: Dalton Farms; Right: Stony Hill Farm Market

Reading this post in 2024? Check out my most recent guide to sunflower fields in NJ here!

You may recognize a few of these farms from my 15 Beautiful Flower Fields in New Jersey to Visit in 2022 blog post back in April. Now it’s July and sunflower season is just getting started in New Jersey! Some farms are already opening for July 2022, and others are opening their doors in August/September into early October. If you are on the hunt for New Jersey’s best photo-worthy sunflower fields to visit in 2022, then check out these 13 farms!

NORTH JERSEY FARMS

1. Alstede Farms (Chester, NJ)

Stroll through the Blooming Giants Sunflower Trail at Alstede Farms. Walking the trail is included in a pick-your-own ticket when purchased now, as of July 15, 2022, into early or mid-October. Check out everything the Alstede Farm has to offer here.

Location: 1 Alstede Farms Ln, Chester, NJ 07930

2. Stony Hill Farm Market (Chester, NJ)

The 2022 sunflower festival at Stony Hill Farm Market in Chester is running Friday-Sunday, July 22 thru August 14. Enjoy 2.5 acres of sunflower fields and eight different varieties. They have one field specifically for walking through and taking photos, and a second field for u-pick stems. General admission tickets are $20.99/person and include entry to the field, a hayride, and one free flower to take home. Tickets can be purchased here.

3. Von Thun Farms (Washington, NJ)

The New Jersey Sunflower Trail at Von Thun Farms in Washington, NJ is now open as of July 15, 2022 thru labor day. 4. Sussex County Sunflower Maze (Sandyston, NJ)

The Sussex County Sunflower Maze in Sandyston, NJ has not officially announced their opening date yet as of July 15, 2022, but they specify that their season typically runs mid-August thru September. Keep an eye on their website for when they open the maze to the public! I visited this spot mid-September of 2020 and the flowers were less alive at that time, so I def recommend going in August or early September.

CENTRAL JERSEY FARMS

5. Holland Ridge Farms (Cream Ridge, NJ)

6. Happy Day Farm (Manalapan, NJ)

Location: 106 Iron Ore Rd, Manalapan Township, NJ 07726
