1. Holland Ridge Farms
Address: 86 Rues Road, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514
Season: September 13th to October 14th
Admission: $15/person on weekdays; $17/person on weekends; $1/sunflower stem picked
Holland Ridge Farms in Monmouth County is the largest U-pick sunflower field in New Jersey. The Fall Festival will include access to food trucks, photo activations, family-friendly activities, and more floral fun. Tickets and full details can be found on its website.
2. Happy Day Farm
Address: 106 Iron Ore Rd, Manalapan Township, NJ 07726
Season: June 29th to August 25th
Admission: $18/person; $2.50/sunflower stem picked; 2 for $1 zinnia stems
Happy Day Farm in Monmouth County is hosting its annual sunflower and zinnia picking event through Late August. Admission includes access to the U-pick sunflower and zinnia fields. The fields include many photo activations; this is a fantastic spot to get pictures!
3. Von Thun Farms
Address: 438 NJ-57, Washington, NJ 07882
Season: July to Early September
Admission: Ranges from $12.99/person to $21.99/person (See Here for Details); $6 per 3 sunflower stems picked
Von Thun Farms in Warren County is hosting the annual NJ Sunflower Trail, which will run through early September. Learn more about this event at its website.
4. Brodhecker Farm
Address: 2 Branchville Lawson Rd, Newton, NJ
Season: Typically Late August to Mid-September
Brodhecker Farm in Sussex County typically opens its Sunflower Field to the public in late August and tends to keep visitors updated via Facebook. I recommend checking its Facebook page for updates on when the fields are opening this year, hours, and more information.
5. Alstede Farms
Address: 1 Alstede Farms Lane, Chester, NJ 07930
Season: Typically July to Early September
Admission: Starts at $16.99/person for PYO produce admission, which includes access to Sunflower Trail when available
Alstede Farms’ Blooming Giants Sunflower Trail is currently open as I’m writing this blog post, and is expected to be open through early September. Admission to the Sunflower Trail is included with a PYO ticket. If you’re visiting in August, I recommend going with the PYO Peaches and swinging by the Sunflower Trail for beautiful blooms and pics!
6. Ort Farms
Address: 25 Bartley Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853
Season: Early July to Mid-October (Different fields bloom at different times throughout the season)
Admission: Varies (usually at least $5/person & up)
Ort Farms in Morris County offers a plethora of farm activities including U-pick sunflowers and other blooms. Their main Sunflower Trail typically operates mid-August through Early September, but they tend to offer other sunflower fields throughout September and even October. I recommend keeping an eye on its Instagram for real-time updates.
7. Stony Hill Farms
Address: 15 North Road, Chester, NJ 07930
Season: Sometime between June and Mid-October (unsure of exact 2024 dates)
Admission: $9.99/person (includes 1 picked sunflower) + additional $1-$3/stem picked
Stony Hill Farms offers a variety of U-pick flowers including sunflowers in the summer season! Learn more on its website about visiting!
8. Sussex County Sunflower Maze
Address: 101 Co Rd 645, Sandyston, NJ 07826
Season: August 28th to September 15th (Open Daily 9 AM to 7 PM)
Admission: $20/person ages 12+ on weekends & $10 on weekdays; Discounted tickets available for children
The Sussex County Sunflower Maze is opening its fields to the public in late August! Enjoy the vibrant blooms and learn more about visiting the maze here.
9. Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm
Address: 2691 Monmouth Road, Jobstown, NJ 08041
2 Seasons: (Summer – Early July to September 1st) & (Fall – September 7th to October 27th)
Admission: $15/cutting field bucket; $2/sunflower stem picked
Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm in Burlington County is a South Jersey favorite for families to visit every year! The Farm offers numerous seasonal activities including two U-pick sunflower fields; one offered July to September 1st, and the other offered September 7th to October 27th, 2024. 10. Argos Farm
Address: 1250 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ 08731
Season: August 2nd to August 18th (subject to change depending on crop)
Admission: $12.95/person online or $19.95 at the gate + cost of picked flowers
Argos Farm in Ocean County is hosting its Sunflower Festival Fridays through Sundays from 3 PM to 8 PM between August 2nd and August 18th. The event will feature “live music, tasty treats, farm fun activities & more.”
11. Sunset Flower Farm
Address: 550 Hands Mill Rd, Belleplain, NJ (550 Hands Mill Rd, Woodbine, NJ on Google Maps)
Season: Typically September (They have not announced the 2024 season yet as of late July)
Admission: Check their socials/website for updates
Sunset Flower Farm is a picturesque wedding venue and farm located in Cape May County. The farm typically opens its sunflower field to the public in September or during the early fall. Check its Facebook page for when it officially announces opening dates and admission info.
12. Clark Farm
Address: 416 Dunhams Corner Rd, East Brunswick, NJ 08816
Season: Opens July 13th, 2024 (unsure when the season ends here)
Admission: $5/person + $1/sunflower stem picked (includes access to zinnias)
Clark Farm has already opened its first Sunflower and Zinnia Patch of the season to the public in mid-July. The farm tends to update frequently on Facebook, so I recommend checking there for more timing information.
13. Johnson’s Corner Farm
Address: 133 Church Road, Medford, NJ 08055
Season: Sunflower Stroll open August 1st to August 11th, 2024 on select days
Admission: $6-$7/person on Thursdays & Fridays; $7-$8/person on Saturdays & Sundays
Johnson’s Corner Farm in South Jersey is a popular spot amongst locals! Their Sunflower Stroll opens on August 1st for the 2024 season and will welcome visitors for 2 weeks. The Stroll will be offered in early August Thursday-Sunday evenings from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The Farm states that more strolls will be offered in September too, so stay tuned to its website for updates and info.
14. Snyder’s Farm
Address: 586 S Middlebush Road, Somerset, NJ 08873
Season: During Fall Festival Weekends – October 5/6, 12/13, 19/20, 26/27
Admission: $20/person ages 2+ (cash only; ATMs available)
Snyder’s Farm in Somerset offers other U-pick flowers during the summer, but sunflowers don’t make an appearance until October, during their Fall Festival. 15. Bullock Farms
Address: 83 Emleys Hill Road, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514
Season: Mid-September to Halloween 2024
Admission: Unknown (check website)
Bullock Farms in Monmouth County opens in the Fall to visitors, offering beautiful flower fields, a corn maze, and more festivities. The sunflower field is perfect for photos, and the Farm should announce the opening date on its website here.
16. Emery’s Farm
Address: 346 Long Swamp Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533
Season: Unknown exactly, but was open the first week of September of 2023 for reference
Admission: Typically $5/person to enter (not confirmed for 2024)
Emery’s Farm in New Egypt is commonly known for its U-pick blueberries, but they also have a 5-acre Sunflower Patch offered seasonally. I recommend checking its Facebook page for updates regarding opening dates and info.
17. Hill Creek Farms
Address: 1631 NJ-45, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062
Season: Opens September 13th, 2024
Admission: Unknown for 2024, but in 2023, Fridays offered free admission, and weekends charged $12.50-$17.50/vehicle + anything picked (check website for updates in September 2024)
Hill Creek Farms in South Jersey is known for its apple orchard and fall festivities. The Farm’s 2024 season will include access to not only the orchard but also tons of other attractions, including a U-pick sunflower field. Watch its Instagram and website for updates and event details.
18. Timberline Farms
Address: 1413 Mays Landing Rd, Hammonton, NJ 08037
Season: Mid-July to August (Unsure when the season ends for 2024)
Admission: $12/person for 1 hour in the field
Timberline Farms offers a naturally grown sunflower field in South Jersey, just roughly 10 minutes from downtown Hammonton. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
19. Dalton Farms
Address: 660 Oak Grove Rd, Swedesboro, NJ 08085
Season: Tentative Dates are August 29th to October 27th, 2024
Admission: $15/person ages 3+ on weekdays & $16/person on weekends (online prices); $20/person at the gate; $2/sunflower stem picked or 10 for $10
Dalton Farms is another South Jersey gem, known locally for its annual Sunflower field and in the spring for tulips. All details regarding the sunflower field can be found here.
20. Norz Hill Farm
Address: 120 S Branch Rd, Hillsborough Township, NJ 08844
Season: July 30th to August 13th (Tuesdays & weekends only) – possibly until August 18th
Admission: $10/person + processing fee (comes out to $11.36/person)
