6 Pumpkin Picking Spots in North Jersey to Visit Fall 2022

We are currently in the middle of October and there are just a few weeks left of prime pumpkin picking! I recently shared 5 of The BEST Pumpkin Picking Farms & Patches in Monmouth County, NJ, but today I’m sharing some spots in North Jersey to do this classic fall activity! New Jersey has so many great spots you can go pumpkin picking, and here are 6 pumpkin picking spots in North Jersey to visit this Fall 2022!

For more New Jersey things to do, restaurants, guides etc… you can follow my New Jersey TikTok here! @newjerseywithjess

1. Secor Farms

(Mahwah, Bergen County)

Address: 85 Airmount Ave, Mahwah, NJ

Secor Farms is a family-friendly spot for pumpkin picking & other fall festivities. Enjoy a scenic hayride to their pumpkin patch and corn maze. The hayride is available Monday thru Friday, 3pm-4:50pm, and Saturdays & Sundays, 10am-4pm. Tickets for the hayride are $6 per person, and pumpkins are $0.75/pound. They also make fresh apple cider doughnuts on the premises daily! More information can be found on their website.

2. Riamede Farm

(Chester, Morris County)

Address: 122 Oakdale Road, Chester, NJ

Riamede Farm is such a fun spot for fall activities! I visited in 2021 for apple & pumpkin picking, and last month just for apple picking. Both of my visits were very enjoyable, and the people here are welcoming and friendly! Admission to the pumpkin patch and orchard costs $11 per person (ages 6+) on Saturdays & Sundays, and $2 per person (ages 6+) on weekdays. You can purchase tickets in advance here. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance if you plan to visit on a weekend.

3. Abma’s Farm

(Wyckoff, Bergen County)

Address: 700 Lawlins Road Wyckoff, NJ

If you are looking for a fun farm experience, then Abma’s Farm may be a good choice for you! Their pumpkin patch is only accessible via hayride, and not by foot! They are open for pumpkin picking every Saturday in October 9am-4pm, and weekdays until October 28, 1pm-4pm. Hayride tickets are your only way to access the pumpkin patch and must be purchased online in advance. If you want to visit the farm before Halloween, then I recommend reserving you tickets asap as they sell out quickly! Their Hayride package costs $20/pp (ages 2+) and includes parking, a play area, round-trip hayride to the pumpkin patch, a small pumpkin, plus barnyard admission following your hayride. You can find more information and purchase tickets to Abma’s Farm here.

4. Demarest Farms

(Hillsdale, Bergen County)

Address: 244 Wearimus Rd, Hillsdale, NJ

Demarest Farms in Bergen County is a popular spot for fall activities including pumpkin picking. They are open from 8am-5pm on weekends. Tickets to the farm MUST be purchased online in advance for admission to the farm. You CANNOT buy tickets at the door! General Admission is $7 per person. Additional information and tickets can be found here. Demarest Farms also offers the largest drive-through halloween light-show display in NJ! More information including dates/times can be found here.

5. Alstede Farms

(Chester, Morris County)

Address: 1 Alstede Farms Ln, Chester, NJ

Alstede Farms is a family-owned farm nestled in the quaint town of Chester, NJ. They offer pick-your-own pumpkins and other seasonal produce, hayrides, fresh cider, pony rides, and more farm fun! Tickets are required to enter the farm and they have a few options to chose from. It is recommend to purchase tickets online to avoid long lines upon arrival. To go pumpkin picking at Alstede Farms, each person must purchase a PYO entry ticket that includes a credit towards a pumpkin. Since they have multiple PYO areas open, you will have to specify, when purchasing your tickets, which produce (ex. pumpkins) you plan to pick while visiting.

Your ticket includes: access to the PYO area(s) you chose, the cost of the produce you pick, scenic wagon rides, plus access to their hay pyramid, corn maze, and blooming giants sunflower trail. A visit to Alstede Farms is no ordinary pumpkin picking experience as they truly have a lot to offer here! For more information about the PYO options and to purchase tickets, you can click here. Their hours of operations can be found here and you can also call them at (908) 879-7189 with any questions.

6. Conklin Farm

(Montville, Morris County)

Address: 10 Vreeland Ave, Montville NJ

Conklin Farm is located on the corner of Vreeland Ave and River Road in Montville, NJ. They offer PYO pumpkins and tickets to enter the farm are $5 per person. You can purchase fresh baked apple or pumpkin pies on sight plus fresh hot cider doughnuts! Note that NO one under the age of 17 can enter without adult supervision. They also have haunted hayrides on weekends only, last ticket sold at 5:30pm. They are open weekdays 12pm-6pm, and weekends 10am-6pm.
